Couple of things for those of you who are a little new to the whole forum experience:
When you create your accounts, there are custom avatars you can use, such as the one I have on this account - if you don't have a picture you would like to upload (much as you do on Skype) to use. You can also change your avatar at any time under your profile tab.
You also have the option of linking to sites you would like to share with others in your profile options, to share your birthday or to keep anything you would like private.
If there is a topic you'd like to bring up, chat about, write some RP of any kind (Not going to enforce 'all things pony' given the varied interests of folks, and part of the point of being for the open use of studio members for entertainment as well as information, which is the other part of having this whole setup) - feel free to do so! A dedicated RP forum was requested, and if need be, we can create others as well. In the meantime, use the General forum for all and sundry. If other names would be more easily used, drop me a suggestion.
When you make a post, you might notice some of the buttons available to use - you can link websites in a post, an email, embed a video, post pictures, link to one of our users here to draw attention to them, as well as change the format of your post from color to text layout, to alignment, and even insert tables and lists and such.
You might notice that there is a BBCode tab, that opens up the first, and a Preview tab. For some, it might be easier to use the Preview tab, as you can see what your post will look like, as you work with it - it can be less confusing to see all the tags and weird code that goes into a lot of this, which you can view in the BBCode tab. For those more familiar with code, you can more easily see what the Preview tab may have goobered up on if a tag didn't go in the right place, or other bits like that.
You may have noticed a smiley face button as well - if you click on that, you'll see an assortment of smileys you can use on the forum in your posts - there are the standards, and then there are a bunch of other more silly bits, many animated, that you can drop in by clicking on them. They'll be inserted wherever your cursor is in your post, and you can eliminate them simply by backspacing over them or otherwise editing them out.
If you have suggestions on what you might want to see here, please let me know - same with any questions you might have. It's never a problem, and I'd rather have users happy with what they have to work with, and get the information they need than have folks be quiet and get frustrated. It's all ok - no question too basic and none considered 'stupid'.
Also, a reminder - when you first sign onto the forums, your groups will not have been set. If you haven't been noticed within the first while, hit one of the Admins up on Skype, or drop me a line here - I'll get you sorted into the groups you'll need to see the forums you'll be working with. We've kept them separate in order to maintain the OPSEC (Operational Security) that has been set up within the various departments, and so that they can continue to work as they've been doing, without a lot of extra input, or letting spoilers slip before they're ready to show the rest of the studio.
As with the studio as a whole, please be considerate of your fellow team members, and do not post anything that might inadvertently offend, or otherwise make someone else uncomfortable. The usual 'don't act like a jerk' more or less covers it, and we really haven't had much trouble so I don't really expect any here - but it's good to have out there and up front as a reminder.
Thanks again - we love and appreciate each and every one of you for your dedication, your contribution, and your ongoing support of the studio, and one another. We have an amazing gathering of people here, and I'm still surprised I've been fortunate enough to be a part of it.
